Our team conducts sessions in three cities across Broward County — Hollywood, Weston, and Fort Lauderdale, making it easier to find a qualified, trustworthy ABA therapist for your child.

Who We Are

The Abacus Therapies story began in 2017 with a single goal — to help children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) live better, more fulfilling lives. Our co-founders, Brad and Susan Fenton, witnessed first-hand how child-led ABA therapy had helped transform the life of their son Max. Driven by the positive results, they were eager to make ABA therapy more accessible to parents in Broward County and give their children a fair chance at succeeding in this world.

Since our founding, our team of experts has worked with numerous children and helped equip them with the skills needed to express their thoughts and ideas more easily and efficiently.

We have also worked with parents, teaching them how to use ABA at home to support their child’s progress.

What We Do

Our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) uses the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to set autistic children on the right developmental path and help them improve their social skills, achieve better results at school, and live more independently.

With Abacus Therapies, you’ll easily find a highly qualified, trustworthy ABA therapist in Broward County. Our BCBAs and RBTs have years of experience working with kids of all ages, and we are dedicated to helping your child learn and grow in a safe, friendly, and nurturing environment.

At the very start, one of our Broward ABA therapists will talk to you and your child. They will then develop a highly personalized improvement plan based on the child’s needs and goals. Throughout the program, our therapists will adjust the plan to ensure the best possible outcome.

How ABA Therapy Can Help

ABA therapy is one of the most effective treatment methods for autistic children. In addition to all the scientific evidence of its effectiveness, recent autism statistics show that 93.9% of caregivers and parents whose children have attended ABA therapy say their kids have visibly benefited from it.

As part of ABA therapy in Fort Lauderdale and our other locations in Florida, your child will attend daily school-based or home-based ABA sessions led by one of our experienced RBTs. Based on the improvement plan devised by the BCBA, your child’s RBT will use toys, sensory tools, guided play, and other engaging activities to help the child reach their improvement goals.

These goals typically include the following:

  • Reducing autism-related tantrums and other undesirable behaviors
  • Enhancing communication and language skills
  • Improving social skills and encouraging social participation
  • Equipping the child with tools to achieve academic success
  • Learning basic self-care skills and building a daily routine

Although it would be best for a child to start ABA therapy around the age of 2, many won’t receive a formal diagnosis until later in their childhood. However, because the therapy focuses on individual needs, even children who start ABA at 6 years old or older can achieve positive outcomes.
